What’s happening to realestate.co.nz’s rebate subscription model?

From 1 April 2020, we’re removing our rebate subscription model. Our subscription prices will remain the same.

What is rebate?

As a real estate office who subscribes to realestate.co.nz, you have previously been eligible to receive a monthly rebate, which can be put towards promoting your listings on our site.

For example, if you are a large office (6+ agents) your subscription amount will be $345 (incl GST) a month, meaning you qualify for a maximum rebate in the form of $345 worth of premium property advertising.

What’s changing?

From the 1st of April 2020, we will be removing rebate. You’ll no longer receive premium property advertising up to the value of your monthly subscription.

Why is this changing?

One of the ways we have been restricted as a business is through our subscription rebate model, which is confusing, adds unnecessary complexity for the industry and has had an unintended consequence of impacting buyers browsing and searching experience. To remedy this we will be removing the subscription rebate model. This will allow us to invest more in brand marketing, better user and buyer experience, and increased promotional activities, to translate more traffic into more genuine enquiries for agents and salespeople.

How will removing rebate affect me?

Our subscription prices are not changing. However if you currently have a subscription with realestate.co.nz, and use rebate to receive your monthly subscription cost towards premium property advertising, you will no longer be able to do so.
